My work mainly involves wall hangings made using my fractured colour technique combined with box making methods to create a 3D effect. I hand dye all of the silks and silk velvets that I use in the process and am currently exploring ways of manipulating the colours.
I will be participating in the York Open Studios event on April 16-18, 2010.
Friday 16th April 6pm - 9pm; Saturday 17th April 10am - 6pm; Sunday 18th April 11am - 5pm

In 2000 I received a Fashion & Embroidery bursary for my City & Guilds Part II and these Indian elephant boxes were part of that work. They are constructed using traditional box making techniques and they won the Construction Prize at the Embroiderers' Guild Riches of Stitches exhibition in 2004.
